London, 9th June 2015 – Saxo Payments, the global transactions services provider, is collaborating with First Data, the global leader in payment technology and services solutions to reduce the costs – and improve the speed – of global transactions carried out by First Data’s clients. The innovative Saxo Payments Banking Circle is providing a simple and secure web interface through which First Data’s clients are able to manage their cross border transfers around the world.
With the Saxo Payments Banking Circle, First Data merchants will be able to perform prompt transfers regardless of geography to their partners and customers.
Underpinned by a secure web-based banking platform, and supported by a range of Tier 1 banks, Saxo Payments enables transfers to be made in real-time, at very low cost, and with very competitive foreign exchange rates.
Nigel Motyer, General Manager, EMEA Acquiring Alliances, First Data commented, “First Data’s primary mission is to help our clients grow their business. To do that we must offer them a convenient cross border payment service at the lowest cost possible. Our collaboration with Saxo Payments supports our drive to make transactions secure, fast and easy for our merchant clients and their customers.”
Anders la Cour, Chief Executive Officer of Saxo Payments added, “Our innovative and unique proposition is perfect for businesses such as First Data, whose clients require access to prompt international payments. Plus, by enabling the suppliers to First Data’s clients to also open Saxo Payments accounts, we can significantly reduce transfer fees regardless of where the sender or receiver is located or the currency in which they transact. Ultimately, we believe this will build a network of real-time payments which can be made globally whilst behaving like internal transfers – secure, fast and at almost no cost at all.
“This is an exciting collaboration of two leading providers in our respective fields, and we look forward to working closely with First Data in offering this solution to their clients to help them grow their businesses internationally.”
