London, 7th October 2021 – Underlining the critical role it is playing in helping Payments businesses, FinTechs and Banks deliver better value to their customers, Banking Circle has won the Best Back Office Innovation category in the 2021 Emerging Payments Awards.
The Emerging Payments Awards celebrate innovation and collaboration by recognising companies that have made significant advances in the world of payments. Now in its 14th year, the 2021 winners were announced at a prestigious event in London on 6th October attended by over 750 of the most senior executives from across the payments value chain.
A technology-led Payments bank with a clear focus on delivering a payments solution for Payments businesses and Banks that is invisible to end users but will enhance their customer proposition, 2021 has been a pivotal year for Banking Circle. Having acquired its Banking Licence in 2020 and migrating to the Cloud at the start of 2021 it is now processing more than 6% of European B2C e-commerce payments, with over a quarter of a million payments from around the world being processed a day.
“Our mission is to make international payments feel like local payments” explained Anders la Cour, Chief Executive Officer of Banking Circle Group. “To achieve that, we’re taking on a job that very few other banks or FinTechs want to tackle, providing the back office functionality Payments businesses and Banks need for direct access to clearing in multiple countries. And that means faster and more cost-effective international payments.
“Winning the Best Back Office Innovation Award at the 2021 Emerging Payments Awards reflects the concerted effort we have made to give Payments businesses and Banks a solution that adds value to their customer experience but doesn’t require any upfront investment in systems or process changes. It is also testament to the continued commitment of the entire Banking Circle team to constantly challenge and innovate for our clients.”
