Payments Bank nominated for Payments Tech, Banking Tech and Rising Star of the Year 2022
London, 9th March 2022 – In the most competitive year so far for the UK FinTech Awards, tech-based Payments Bank, Banking Circle, has been shortlisted in three categories. Banking Circle’s propositions and infrastructure are nominated for Banking Tech of The Year and Payments Tech of the Year, while the Bank’s Global Head of Business AML, Livia Benisty, is on the shortlist for Rising Star of the Year. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 20th April 2022 at Leonardo Royal London St Paul’s.
“Banking Circle’s mission is to make international payments feel like local payments,” commented Laust Bertelsen, CEO of Banking Circle. “Banking Circle is taking on a job that very few other banks or FinTechs want to tackle, to reduce the cost and time of international payments. To ensure we continue to deliver ground-breaking propositions that benefit the entire financial ecosystem, we are building a global team of inspirational and forward-thinking experts to design, build, develop and maintain our propositions and our super correspondent banking network.
“It is an honour to have our solutions recognised through these UK FinTech Awards nominations, and we are all extremely proud that Livia’s achievements and ambition have gained the recognition they deserve through her own nomination. To have been nominated in three categories, especially in such a competitive year, is a huge achievement for a relatively new Bank such as ours, and a clear demonstration of the positive impact we are having on the industry.”
Livia Benisty leads a team focused on developing stringent AML processes that do not block legitimate business. In particular, she is utilising her vast experience to identify how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be applied to enhance the effectiveness of AML, reducing the incidence of false positives, to reduce operational workload and free up resources to focus on other areas. By working with Banking Circle and capitalising on the AI-based solution Livia and her team have built, institutions remain fully compliant without the need for significant in-house investment, and they gain significant business benefit through improved efficiency.
Through Banking Circle, Banks, PSPs and FinTechs can access a global network of clearing and settlement so that they can offer a full cross-border banking solution that makes international payments feel local – without the need for multiple banking relationships. Banking Circle gives Banks, Payments businesses and FinTechs a local presence in the markets they want to serve without them having to invest in a physical presence.
