Tech-led payments bank nominated for Best Cross-Border Merchant Solution
London, 8th March 2022 – Recognising the valuable investment Banking Circle has made to improve international payments, the innovative payments Bank is a finalist for the prestigious Best Cross-border Merchant Solution award at this year’s Merchant Payments Ecosystem (MPE) awards. The awards ceremony and gala dinner will take place on March 29th, as part of the 16th annual MPE conference in Berlin.
The MPE awards are the only European awards focused on recognising the role card acquirers, processors, PSP’s, POS and payment solution providers play within the ecosystem to move the industry forward. The programme highlights the breadth and strength of the entire industry. The Best Cross-Border Payments category recognises the solution providers that help merchants grow revenue by opening up and expanding sales across borders while reducing risks and complexities.
Laust Bertelsen, CEO of Banking Circle commented “The digitalisation of global commerce has accelerated immeasurably, and merchants can’t afford to be left behind by their payments processes. They need international payments partners that can help them trade cross-border without incurring significant cost or delays. It’s a clear opportunity for Banks, Payments businesses and Marketplaces – but one that is littered with barriers, from the limitations of the established correspondent banking network to big bank de-risking.
“We have addressed these challenges by creating our own super-correspondent banking network, providing our Bank and Payments business clients with direct access to clearing in multiple countries, for fast and cost-effective international B2B payments. We are delighted that the important work our team is doing and the benefits it brings to the wider ecosystem have been recognised through this award nomination.”
Banking Circle is wholly focused on delivering a payments solution for Merchants, Payments businesses and Banks to offer to their merchant customers that is invisible to end users but enhances their customer proposition – without upfront investment in systems or process changes. Through Banking Circle, Financial Institutions can access a global network of clearing and settlement so that they can offer merchants a full cross-border banking solution that makes international payments feel local – without the need for multiple banking relationships.
