Shortlistings in Inspiration and Rising Star categories
London, 31st March 2022 – The team at Banking Circle is celebrating a double nomination in the prestigious Women in Payments EMEA Awards 2022. The bank’s Global Head of Marketing, Miranda McLean, is shortlisted in the Inspiration category. Livia Benisty, Banking Circle’s Global Head of Business AML is shortlisted in the Rising Star category.
Winners will be announced at the annual Global Association of Women in Payments EMEA Symposium in Madrid on 27th April.
The Award for Inspiration will be given to a woman who inspires others in the industry, often through thought leadership or mentorship. Miranda McLean was part of the team of five who launched Banking Circle, playing a critical role in building the brand from scratch. With a highly successful career in a traditionally male-dominated industry, Miranda uses her expertise, inside knowledge and contacts to drive change which benefits other women across the industry and encourages a new generation into financial careers. She also serves on the Executive Board of the European Women Payments Network (EWPN), which focuses on championing the skills and expertise of women in the burgeoning FinTech and payments sectors.
The Rising Star Award will be given to a woman under the age of 40 who is currently employed in EMEA. Livia Benisty has spent 15 years working in financial crime and AML around the world, gaining expertise that she now utilises to build technology that can better manage and mitigate financial crime risk. She is particularly focused on redesigning processes and platforms to connect FinTechs and Banks successfully, securely and compliantly. The solutions Livia and her team build help Banking Circle clients integrate AML seamlessly within the broader business. Outside of Banking Circle, Livia sits on the RegTech Women Advisory Board and has taken part in many industry podcasts and interviews.
“In this traditionally male-dominated industry, we are fortunate to have successful and inspirational women in our leadership team,” commented Anders la Cour, CEO of Banking Circle Group. “The payments sector is breaking new ground and challenging the status quo, and both Miranda and Livia are taking on the important role of using their positions and experience to mentor and inspire their teams, champion women working in this sector and encourage the next generation of women to join this exciting industry.”
