The innovative tech-led payments bank, launched by Anders la Cour in partnership with Laust Bertelsen, Banking Circle delivers valuable solutions for Payments businesses and Banks today. The Bank has built a real-time clearing and settlement network for 24 currencies that delivers fast, low-cost payments – with no hidden fees for the beneficiary.

Banking Circle’s in-house, industry-leading AI-driven transaction monitoring solution for enhancing the effectiveness of AML processes is a hybrid solution that combines the best of AI, machine learning and traditional rules-based approaches. Developed by Livia Benisty and her team, it is applied to all transactions Banking Circle handles on behalf of clients.

Migrating all aspects of the Bank’s infrastructure to the cloud has allowed Banking Circle to evolve architecture even more quickly in response to the ever-changing demands of the industry – all whilst providing a more intuitive client experience.  The move was meticulously planned and executed by Banking Circle’s Engineering team, led by Michel André, Banking Circle’s CIO, with zero impact on client workflows.

“We launched Banking Circle to challenge the accepted norm of slow and expensive cross-border B2B payments and deliver a sustainable and accessible solution,” commented Anders la Cour. “Our innovative approach is demonstrated across the business, with our ever-growing team dedicated to addressing market needs in new ways that solve pain points and increase financial inclusion. Not only is our payment solution unique, but our approach to security and commitment to continual development of our propositions and infrastructure is market leading. This is only possible thanks to the expertise and innovation of our leaders and our teams. These PayTech Award nominations are testament to the hard work and dedication of our teams around the world, and the positive impact we are having on the global financial ecosystem.”
