No place like home? Domestic European markets hold the key to growth

Europe’s financial services providers are internationalists – up to a point. Most see prospects for business growth and grounds for optimism in domestic and non-domestic markets. But, by some margin, the most important international arena remains Western Europe.

Challenges remain nonetheless. The European drive to create a more homogenous and harmonised market is still ongoing, which creates challenges for even the most basic payment types and cross border transfers.

In the third paper of our ‘Ready for the Re-build?‘ series, we take a more detailed look at the attitudes towards international markets and cross border customers, comparing and contrasting responses from survey participants located in different countries in Western Europe to explore which countries are the most optimistic, the most prepared, and the most resilient.
