To support that and our exciting growth journey, we are looking to hire a highly skilled Sanctions Screening Analyst, who is able to reinforce our Business AML team.
This role will be based in Singapore and will include reviewing and releasing false positive sanctions alerts and escalating potential true matches to L2 investigations. Additionally, you will assist the Sanctions Screening Management Team with various additional tasks within the wider Sanctions program. You will be reporting to Sanctions Screening Management Team in London and be a part of our growing Sanction function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process screening alerts at Level 1 – this will include releasing false positive alerts and escalating potential matches where appropriate
- Ensure caseload is prioritised to ensure payments are reviewed prior to applicable currency cut-off
- Develop a strong understanding of the business operating model for Sanctions Screening
- Assist in maintenance of procedures to ensure that they are reflective of the Sanctions Control environment
- Highlight any system or process deficiency as well as opportunities for improvement
- Assist in the compilation of required performance and risk metrics
Skills & Qualifications
To be the right candidate for this position, we expect you to have a relevant educational background (BSc as a minimum). We expect you to have demonstrated capability from an applicable role where you have gained knowledge of global AML, sanctions rules and regulations, and a minimum of 3 years of experience within Payment Sanctions Screening and alert management. Furthermore, it is desirable if you have experience within the Payment/FinTech space and multiple software packages (e.g. Safewatch, SWIFT, Fircosoft).
You have an ability to review and understand payment flows together with a good attention to detail. You should also have an interest in and knowledge of Sanctions legislation in US, UK, EU, UN, MAS and other relevant jurisdictions. Sound communication and IT skills (including competency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 365).
As a person, you are analytical, not afraid to work independently with personal accountability and thrive in a fast-paced environment. It is an asset if you are a true team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others.
As the role is based in Singapore with a focus on European clients, it’s a requirement that you are fluent in English and Mandarin, both verbally and in writing. If you master other relevant languages, it will be an asset.
The position will be based at Banking Circle’s Office in Singapore.
