Head of AML Onsite Review Team – London

To support that and our exciting growth journey, we are looking to hire a highly skilled Head of AML Onsite Review Team, who will lead a team of Onsite Reviewers conducting onsite reviews at the premises of Banking Circle’s prospect regulated and high-risk clients. You will be reporting to the Head of Onboarding and be a part of our growing AML function, who works closely with our relationship, product and compliance teams to deliver a best in class AML model.
You will liaise with the team and other internal stakeholders to ensure an efficient, and professional, client onboarding experience, whilst protecting the business from potential financial crime risks. To that extent, you will need to observe the regulatory framework of Banking Circle, the client’s local regulatory requirements and Banking Circle’s risk appetite.
- Own and enhance the structure and strategy of AML Onsite Reviews
- Build a knowledge hub for the AML Onsite Review team
- Manage the team’s workload and prioritize according to our strategy
- Train, guide and provide feedback to the team members
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders
- Review onsite reports and provide advice/feedback when required
- Report to Senior Management monthly on the overall status of onsites conducted
Skills & Qualifications
To be the right candidate for this position, we expect you to have a demonstrated capability from an applicable role where you have more than 6 years experience in managing teams in Financial Crime related topics, and a strong understanding of AML regulation and legislation in Europe and Asia.
The successful candidate will have strong critical thinking and analysis capabilities and possess performance management skills that empower the team regardless of level of seniority. You understand regulations impacting PSPs, Banks and NBFIs globally, and you know about AML risks and controls.
You should be results driven, with an ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and have good people management skills. You possess advanced communication and time management skills, which enables you to message clearly across all levels within the organization and you can drive a high performance and morale in your teams through a trusted status with your team. We expect you to be proactive and not afraid to take initiative.
As Banking Circle is an international company it’s a requirement, that you are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. If you master other relevant languages it will be an asset. The position will be based at Banking Circle’s offices in London.
