Join our team

Are you a Data Architect who has technology close to your heart, and are you interested in guiding and driving up the maturity around data in Banking Circle?

If so, we offer you the chance to be a part of a truly international and vibrant company with more than 400 skilled and dedicated employees worldwide, who are all passionate about creating next-generation mission-critical financial services infrastructure and leading the rise of a super-correspondent banking network.

The position and why we need you

At Banking Circle, we want to make an impact that pioneers the industry and creates instant value for our clients. But we also want to be a best-in-class employer where innovation and career development is going hand in hand.

To support that and our exciting growth journey, we are looking to hire a highly skilled Data Architect to join us in this new key position within the Banking Circle Engineering organization. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to guide the organization in how to translate the theoretical data domain into concrete solutions that the teams can work with. You will be reporting to our CTO and be a part of our growing Engineering.

There will be ample room for defining the specifics of the role yourself and you will be expected to drive initiatives independently and to provide proactive input to Engineering Management on initiatives that you see as valuable to take us forward. Examples of initiatives we would expect you to drive could be overseeing the next version of client facing reporting through our API, ensuring data consistency from our Azure Data Bricks-based data platform all the way to our client-facing REST API, and defining and rollout a standardized serialization/deserialization setup from typed/structured data to JSON/XML over message bus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive initiatives to ensure a robust data architecture
  • Describe standards and principles for data modelling and data classification
  • Drive initiatives to describe and implement enterprise data models for key business entities
  • Ensure consistency between logical data models and actual implementation
  • Drive up data quality across systems and business domains

Skills & Qualifications

To be the right candidate for this position, we expect you to have a demonstrated capability from an applicable role where you have professional experience as a Senior Data Engineer or Data Architect in a complex, distributed production system, preferably within the financial sector. Also, it is desirable if you have working experience with Azure or AWS cloud data and messaging technologies such as Service Bus, EventHub, Event Grid, Data Bricks, Data Lake, SQL Server etc., together with knowledge of and experience in data modelling, data classification, data quality and data governance.

You have an agile mindset with focus on short and incremental, value-adding initiatives and deliverables together with previous experience with performance- and latency sensitive production environments as well as message bus architecture. Good documentation- and presentation skills and the ability to translate complex problems to simple overviews

As a person, you are proactive and able to take initiative. You are in possession of good communication skills with the ability to coach less senior colleagues, and a delivery-oriented mindset, that makes you capable of making things happen.

As Banking Circle is an international company it’s a requirement that you are fluent in English both verbally and in writing. If you master other relevant languages, it will be an asset.

The position will be based at Banking Circle’s Office in Copenhagen.
