London, 1st November 2021 – Showcasing the company’s role as a key innovator within the Financial Services industry, Banking Circle has been shortlisted for the 2021 FT Tech Champions awards. The nine winners will be announced on November 8th.

At the height of the pandemic, Banking Circle migrated its core system to the Microsoft Azure cloud, reaping operational efficiencies and supercharging the customer experience. The shortlisting recognises that Banking Circle sells to PSPs, Payments businesses and Banks who all had to adjust to increased demand for e-commerce during multiple lockdowns, and that the shift to the cloud enabled its customers’ international transactions to thrive. Indeed, Banking Circle settled 6% of Europe’s B2C e-commerce flow and processed over 155 billion Euros worth of payments during this period.

Banking Circle has been shortlisted for the ‘Banking’ category, demonstrating its commitment to technology to support its client’s requirements for low-cost, cross border money transfers.
